Formula 1 supermen Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone’s popularity seems to be going down the tube as the present teams of manufacturers are publicly unhappy in the plans the two have made starting in 2010.

The tension is no secret that even Ferrari and several more manufacturers are thinking of quitting the F1 series. Of course, this is where the organizers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the oldest sports car race in the world, come in prepared and determined to bring F1 manufacturers teams on board.

In an interview with Autosport, Remy Brouard, general manager to Automobile CLub de l’Ouest (ACO) that organize the famed Le Mans race, beamed that he is willing to get as many F1 teams as possible. “There is no ideal figure, the more the better. They are welcome here, said Brouard. “If they want to make proposals, we will listen.”

This easily spells chaos for the popular Formula 1 series. Add to this is the split between IRL and CART that also divided the fan base for both F1 and American open-wheeled race. Despite the fact that the two leagues have been reunited, the years spent divided caused great damage to Formula 1, a tale that should make the F1 series wary of such disputes.

No formal announcements have been made. Everyone’s still holding onto their bets on what would transpire for F1 in 2010 and beyond. Fans and drivers alike, everyone wants to know if the top-of-the-line F1 manufacturers would jump fences to Le Mans. Maybe it is time to make new legends in the world of sports car racing. I would LOVE to see Ferrari Enzo’s racing the Audi R15’s!
