The 2013 Corvette lineup will include the Collector Edition Corvette 427 Convertible which is the fastest and most potent of the corvette convertibles that rolled off the production line of the brand.

In addition, the 2013 Chevrolet Corvettes will be getting a special marking to commemorate the 60th anniversary since the launch of the first corvette in 1953.

The 60th Anniversary Package will give the ride an Arctic white finish, interior wrapped in Blue Diamond leather with accents of suede, a rear spoiler that seems to be lifted from the ZR1, brake calipers painted in gray, and emblems all over to mark the 60th anniversary of the Corvette.

There are also reports which says that the 2013 Corvette will have more options for the exterior color like Night Race Blue and the Competition Gray rims to be replaced by black aluminum rims. Again buyers can get the wheels in a range of sizes from 18 thru 20 inches.

The official launch of the 2013 Corvette happens before the end of the month in Bowling Green at the National Corvette Museum Bash.

So, I’ve been talking a lot about dream cars that are gorgeous but reserved for only the ultra-elite … if they’re already on the waiting list. Cars that are gorgeous but for all practical purposes totally unattainable. But the Corvette is a dream car that you can actually have.

There are some people who criticize the Corvette for the lack of options available from the dealer. But come on, people! This car is designed to compete with supercars costing 2 to 3 times as much, at least. Your Ferrari or Maserati doesn’t come with the choice of options – it is what it is – a purist’s vehicle, a dream car. The Corvette comes from the factory as a high-performance vehicle. When you buy a Corvette, you know you’re getting more than just a vehicle with a big engine and a loud exhaust–you’re getting an engineering masterpiece. That is what makes it a dream car.

Part of the beauty of that engineering masterpiece is that you can enjoy it from the factory, or you can personalize it to suit your tastes with the variety of aftermarket options available. Yes, the Corvette is already a dream car – but products for owners interested in Corvette tuning for the track or street, or suspension products to help improve on its already amazing performance, are readily available.

So unlike the Murcielago’s of this world, it’s nice to know that a Corvette might be a dream car you might one day wake to admire sitting in your garage under a Corvette cover. Or pick yourself up a C6 ZR1 and have yourself a supercar without the moths flying out of your wallet – really, the choice is up to you if you have over $100K to spend!
